Legalization is an additional certification by a government authority, and the procedure varies depending on whether the document was issued abroad or in Bulgaria.

 

- Foreign documents are legalized by the translator signing them in person before a notary public and certifying their signature.

- Bulgarian documents are legalized by certification from the relevant competent institution (ministry or other authority), possibly with an Apostille stamp, and subsequent certification of the translator’s signature by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
